Christian Vocational Ministries
The most important work of missions is evangelizing and establishing local churches, but a big part of this work is in the realm of the practical. Eagle’s Nest will provide training in certain areas of practicality: construction, basic plumbing, automobile maintenance and repair, basic electrical wiring, and resourcefulness—being good stewards of God’s money.
For more information please contact us at (435) 326-2150 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are asking the Lord to send someone with a shared vision for this type of ministry to come head up CVM and someone else with financial training to handle the funds and fund-raising. We also need personnel for several other positions to house and train these students. Is God burdening your heart to be a part of this endeavor?
Please pray for God to send the staff needed for Christian Vocational Ministries and for wisdom as we are prayerfully hoping we will be able to open the school in the fall of 2019! If the Lord lays it on your heart to support CVM financially or to come labor with us, we would welcome the help!
In the past, there have been some good Christian schools offering vocational training in the trades (carpentry, auto mechanics, HVAC, etc.) Today there are very few places for Christians to learn these skills in a godly environment. We believe God has raised up Eagle’s Nest Baptist Ministries and Christian Vocational Ministries to provide this kind of training to people in a variety of life circumstances. We believe partnering and combining these two unique ministries under the name Christian Vocational Ministries and using the facilities God has already provided will begin to fill this need.
The students who enroll will receive training to be grounded in Biblical leadership skills. They will gain skills in cabinet making and residential construction which will equip them to serve the Lord in a building ministry or as needed on a mission field or to provide for their families in any circumstance while serving as godly leaders in churches anywhere. This setting will apply to young people just out of high school or people needing to reset their direction in life for various reasons, including post-military needs. It is our vision to offer core classes and Bible classes online through a reputable Christian college and offer vocational training here at CVM with practical experience through mission building trips.
Initially, CVM will be offering classes in Construction and Cabinet Making. The first track will include training in plumbing, wiring, framing, sheetrock installation and finish, flooring, installation of windows and doors, roofing, exterior finish, and more. The Cabinet Making track will include design, types of materials, measurement and construction, finish, hardware, installation, including countertops.
At this time, we have one ministry building with dorm space for ten, a small kitchen for breakfasts and snacks, and a full professional cabinet shop. We also have another ministry building that has dorm space for eight, a commercial-type kitchen, a large dining/multi-purpose room and several offices. The unfinished upstairs of this building has the potential to house 25-30 more students when it is complete.
Another important resource is Marysvale Baptist Church, a strong and vibrant church in which to grow and serve the Lord.
We are blessed with a master cabinet maker, including his full cabinet shop, and a general contractor with a reputation for excellence who will help oversee these areas of vocational skill. Experienced craftsmen in the various trade skills will conduct block classes and individual instruction.
